We've all seen them, not all of us understand them, some fight against them, others create and spread them, memes! From the saddest poorest attempts at a joke to the most viral, dankest of s---posts, I am a fan. Do I have favorites? Not really. Today's favorites are tomorrow's old forgotten relics of the past. I try to stay up-to-date, if something strikes my fancy I might share it, maybe even expand on it, but never become too attached. The current speed at which Internet memes die is too great to allow such an emotional connection to form.
But I ramble, what is most important about memes is whether they make the recipient feel an emotion, Often times laughter, although, it's also possible to experience others, like sadness, cringe, or just straight up fear and nausea that makes people leave the vicinity of the meme, usually with a quick and impulsive "NOPE!"
Nevertheless, memes are a staple of Internet culture, and just like any other things Internet, I have an interest in it.
